Up for a little challenge? Try your skills at ChessWeb
Puzzles and Studies. Even for the professional chess players,
like masters and grandmasters, the art of solving chess studies remains
a crucial weapon in their arsenal. What is so special about the studies?
Usually, a study (etude) is an artificially created position, where the
goal is to win or to draw and the correct solution is hidden behind tricky
variations. The number of moves in a study is usually unrestricted. This
useful assumption brings studies closer to a real game, where nobody tells
you how quickly you can win. Good studies also contain tactical and
strategic methods typical for real games.
Finally, ChessWeb Links is a collection of links
to chess tournaments, chess clubs, and other chess resources on the web.
